About Us
Rooted in culture, driven by flavor — the story behind Queensway Food.
Our Story
Queensway Foods was founded by Atinuke “Tinu” Ogunsalu, a passionate chef dedicated to sharing the rich flavors of West African cuisine. Trained at Washburne Trade School in Chicago, Tinu built a reputation in the Washington DC area for authentic, flavorful dishes and earned the nickname “Queen of Jollof” among food lovers.
She also founded Queensway Restaurant & Catering Services in Bowie, Maryland, where she introduced the community to traditional African meals prepared with care and expertise. Today, Queensway Foods continues that legacy bringing authentic West African flavors to homes, events, and communities with a commitment to quality and tradition.
Our Food
Jollof Rice
Our menu is a love letter to two great culinary traditions. From the smoky, spice-rubbed jerk chicken of Jamaica to the rich, aromatic jollof rice of Nigeria — every dish is made from scratch using traditional recipes and fresh, quality ingredients.
We don't cut corners. Our oxtail is slow-braised for hours. Our curry goat is marinated overnight. Our suya skewers are seasoned with hand-ground spices. That's the Queensway difference.
